Thinking of buying a box of Justin Classic Almond Nut Butter to use as my fat source once a week or so for breakfast during IF. What do you all think of this product? Contains only almonds and palm fruit oil. What non-starchy vegetables would it go with other than celery? It's a bit high on O6 so I'd try to avoid all nuts except Mac for the rest of a day like this.

Should be fine once a week. Expensive as heck though. Costco carries Maranatha Almond butter - only ingredient is almonds.

Agree on the Maranatha. 6 bucks gets you a whole lot, and it's certified gluten free, which is great for those who are sensitive. – Ashley Feb 15 2012 at 6:42

Yum. Love almond butter, and Justin's is tasty. I know that there are more nutritional dense ways to get fat, but I love me some nut butter. That said, my favorite vehicle for nut butters is a spoon.

Spoon...the best! – henny Feb 15 2012 at 6:00

Why not just eat the nuts whole? Slows the eating down, slows the digestion down, less packaging, probably a lot cheaper. (I'm not throwing stones - nut butters are fun - just thinking out loud.)

I can see doing a savory almond butter sauce on greens, like peanut sauce on spinach at a Thai restaurant.

I eat them whole too but just want some variety. A dressing is a good idea. – balor123 Feb 15 2012 at 6:07
