I've been paleo for about four months with good results. I'm coming from a place of having restricted calories and doing a lot of bike riding. Never been athletic, genetically weak up top. I'm really sick of it. I'm interested in ancestral movements and stuff like movenat and parkour, I love how fit and agile those folks are. It's a far off dream to be able to move like that.
As it is, I'm thin, have no muscle mass to speak off. I'm weak all over, I don't often have much energy. I walk and ride my bike, but in terms of my energy it tends to sap me of it rather than giving me much mucle mass. So I thought I'd try the Primal Fitness Blueprint bodyweight exercises and try to master things like planks, pull ups, squats and push ups. I don't want to join a gym because of the expense and because I don't think I'd enjoy it. I'd like to get good at climbing trees and monkey bars, sprinting, doing bodyweight exercises and making them more challenging with sandbags, etc.
Does that sound okay? I thought I'll do 3 bodyweight days a week, eat loads of meat and fat, increase starch (get tired and sad on little carbs) to about 400-600 calories, or less, depending on how it feels. As it is I can't even do a plank properly and I feel so bummed put and disappoint with my body. I guess I'm looking for any pointers you might have on how I can speed this process up and start feeling at home in my body. I don't care what I look like, I just want to be able to dangle off trees and swim and stuff. And getting my energy back is a biggie... as I've found, low carb might not work for me, but too high carb also muddles me up. It's difficult to find balance.
