Has anyone tried both Zone block-style eating AND intermittent fasting (not necessarily at the same time)? Which did you prefer? Is one better than the other for particular goals? Edit because I'm starting a Zone challenge (with 3x fat) at my... (more)

I was on the cusp of starting Zone when I spotted a Paleo link for the first time. Honestly unless I was an elite athlete with very specific goals that I have not reached just eating well, Zone seems an awful lot of trouble which may not provide... (more)

So I want to start doing the Zone in addition to my already Paleo life, and I get the blocks and what not, but how does one incorporate cooking oils (butter, EVOO, Coconut oil etc) - if 1 tblsp of coconut oil goes into the pan, that whole... (more)

I did Zone paleo for a while too, and had trouble with this. I was more lenient on fats, since low fat is really difficult after getting used to paleo for some time. I still kept the oil to about 1 or 2 teaspoons, and still added avocado or... (more)

Hi All. I'm new to CrossFit (6 weeks in - 4x a week) and Paleo (3 months in). I've been finding that even though I'm feeling better and improving my muscle mass, I'm not seeing fat loss results. I'm looking to incorportate the zone diet with... (more)

BTW, you can implement the Perfect Health Diet (paleo) as what amounts to Zone. Especially since, although most people skip this part, Zone is only 40-30-30 if you calorie restrict. You are supposed to add extra fat for any calories above the... (more)

Has anyone here had success eating Paleo while on the Zone Diet? I don't measure my food or even weight it, just eat until I'm satisfied and only eat when I'm hungry. But recently, I was reading about Zone and how important it was to measure your... (more)

So I recently thought I would tinker with a paleo zone, to see if it helps lean out. Going to stick with the paleo foundation just add in the zone block theory. I read that ramping up the fat is a good idea, especially since I am pretty active.... (more)

Look, I've never done the Zone, and I find the it a bit distasteful, personally, even in its Paleo-Zone incarnation. So take all this with a grain of salt. Unless you are a competitive athlete, you may not gain much by tinkering with the Zone.... (more)

Hi there, I have IBS and anxiety. Doctor just tried me on a low dose of Zoloft (sertraline, an SSRI) for the anxiety, but it's making me extremely constipated. He said to give it 2 weeks for side effects to subside, but I'm on day 9 and... (more)

Yes, side effects can often take a few weeks to even out. Stick with it. If the medication ends up helping with your anxiety, it will be well worth it.
