how much raw colostrum to consume?

I wanted to get insights on serving size for raw grass fed organically produced colostrum. I have found a source at a nearby farmers market labeled NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION(pet use only) and it costs 3.50$ for 473ml. I only got one the first time out because I wasn't sure I was going to be able to stomach it. I tried it yesterday and it was interesting. I put in a little vanilla and drank the whole bottle easily. I felt a little weird at first, flu like, which I read was a normal reaction for an initial exposure as an adult. but I felt great after an hour. For someone that wasn't breastfed as an infant what would be appropriate amount and regularity of colostrum intake? 155 lb male 31 years old 5'11" very clean diet. My inexpensive body fat scale says I'm 7.5% bf, but I'm guessing its closer to 10%. My current plan was just to buy 2 bottles a week and have one every 4-5 days.

Homestead Heritage booth at a farmers market. They are usually set up on Saturdays at the Winter market 222 E Market St Indianapolis.

Not sure there's a huge benefit to colostrum myself. 1) You're well-past the 72 hour window where it was useful. You need a permeable gut to benefit. 2) You're human, not a cow or a goat or whatever animal produced that colostrum.

Really? You realize the asinine food labeling laws we have in the USA right? The same people that say you need to eat 330 grams of carbs a day are the ones that tell an organic dairy farmer he cant sell raw dairy for human uses. Body composition is 80% nutrition and sleep. N=1

No, Roth, that is not what I said. I provided information on the way colostrum is used in nature.

my google-fu finds benefits of colostrum include healthier gut, better recovery, better skin, and others. Again, I NEVER had the 72 hours of colostrum feeding as an infant. Chris Kresser has talked about using it as an adult to improve gut health in most people ESPECIALLY those who never had it. Anecdotally I have talked to people who have used it in pill form to great success. n=1

MathGirl72, are you saying that colostrum has no benefits for someone who is trying to improve their immune system, even as an adult?

What is your reasoning behind the consumption of colostrum? Colostrum is consumed by mammals in the first few days of life to jump start immunity and provide a a high amount of calories while the body adjusts to life outside of the womb.

What is the purpose for doing this? I'm asking sincerely, not to be snide.

1 bottle every 4-5 days sounds like a good idea. Keep doing that.

The small break in between will allow you to gauge any possible die-off symptoms or negative reactions to the colostrum.

Not for human consumption.

I would consume 0 oz. per lb of body weight/ body fat % X How much weight you want to put on.
