I've heard that digestive enzymes are often destroyed by stomach acid (and therefore a capsule is needed to protect the enzymes from the stomach acid), but there's nothing protecting raw food, and yet it is often praised for the digestive enzymes... (more)

It's a bit more complicated than you think. 1) What specific enzyme are you thinking that you need? There's multiple ones out there, with affects in various spots in the digestive tract. 2) Where do you want it to work? In the stomach? In the... (more)

I've noticed that many, if not most, of the raw foodists I know personally, through people, or have read about are very spiritual- not religious and not necessarily in a dogmatic "new age" way. I personally feel better on a primarily raw food diet... (more)

I don't think there is any real connection between raw-foodism and spirituality. The Hindu religion prescribes vegetarianism and that has carried over to many yoga practitioners in the West and of course Judaism and Islam have food prescriptions... (more)

I was an adherent to the Doug Graham way for a little over two years. From what I could tell interacting with a large part of the community during that time, 80-10-10 leaves you either emaciated and skinny, or emaciated and fat. There are only a... (more)
