Having attempted to read his articles I quickly found that I'd rather go get my teeth drilled then continue on reading. That doesn't mean that it invalidates his theories, it just means I can't figure out what he is all about. I'm pretty darn... (more)

Have heard him mentioned on the forums. Had a look at his site and couldn't find much to say what sort of diet he endorses. Anyone know what this guy is about? Is he paleo or anti-paleo?

I thought it was clear that burning fat is better than burning glucose for longevity. Now I read the opposite from a guy that looks quite good for his age of seventy something. Lacking expertise in biochemistry, I have no idea what is right, but... (more)

Some people go Low Carb when they don't really need to and mess up their thyroids. Which leads to hypothyroidism. This is when they turn to Peat and - voila - their problems are solved.

Ray Peat's way of eating makes low carb look like Doody (Well, it is). It's based on improving thyroid and metabolism, not some B.S ideology that we should eat a certain way because our ancestors did. Inb4 butthurt.

Haven't heard much about his opinion on wheat/gluten? Does he see it as benign?

he says the gluten is linked to skin problems and is a gut irritant. If you have a really high metabolism and superb digestion he thinks you could get away with eating it moderately.
