Title says it all - I have a history of gut issues (leaky gut, suspecting SIBO, bloating, etc) and found that a keto diet kept the bloating away and BM's regular. I'm currently doing Lyle Mcdonald's PSMF (Protein Sparing Modified Fast) where... (more)

How often are re-feeds necessary to replace glycogen and up thyroid? I would assume the leaner the person/more lbm the more refeeds are needed. So if I am 10% bodyfat at 200lbs then maybe 2 a week as per anabolic diet advice, where as for a... (more)

From what I have been readying lately, the refeed is basically done for the next days workout. So after a challenging workout, do the refeed later in the evening to refill the muscles for action the next day. The latest Paleo Solution Podcast... (more)

Alright, I have been cutting roughly 11 weeks now and from where I started at ~205 and am currently right around 190. The fat loss has been excellent so far and just began "mini" refeed days about 2 weeks ago. I workout in the morning right after... (more)

What are you trying to accomplish? I don't really see this as a refeed of any sort. On a refeed you should go big or go home. At least double+ your carbs and yes drop the fat to ~50g for the day. I just don't see the benefit to what you are... (more)

I am 16 yo female, around 115lb, 5'5.5". Want to gain muscle, lose fat, get strong. I lift heavy 4-5x a week, HIIT/plyometrics 2-3x a week, power yoga 2x a week. I started counting macros last week and have felt great. I hit my goal daily... (more)

I would go with yes...but that's really just speculation. Glycogen takes quite a bit of carbs to replete, so if you're working out that often bumping your carbs every few days may be wise. Should maybe take a look at Athlete.io, it's a bit... (more)

Hey Guys! So I follow a 5-6 day low carb paleo diet pretty high in fat, high in protein, and stick pretty much with green leafy veggies. 1 day a week I do carb refeed. VERY high in carbs. I eat a lot of white rice, sweet potatoes, fruit,... (more)

Todd, I was recently considering something similar, since my weight loss has significantly slowed down and I'm not quite satisfied yet. Ultimately I put it off because more consistent IFing, and mindfulness of overeating seems to be getting... (more)

If you're doing anything glycolitic (insanity counts), you're going to need carbs, especially post-workout. Here's a better article on it than I could write myself: http://talktomejohnnie.com/diet/earn-your-carbs (more)

I don't think post workout carbs are a necessity, especially given that your main goal is to lean out. If your goal was to build lean muscle, and you were already sufficiently lean, then post-workout carbs could be a good strategy to help achieve... (more)
