I buy coconut oil in 14 fl oz jars. Since April 2011 I have used 1 jar plus about 2 tbsp.
At first, the only time I used it was to smear it on the skin of poultry going into the oven. But I don't eat much poultry. My primary use of the first jar was as a base for home-made deodorant.
Lately I've been putting a tsp into my first mug of coffee along with the heavy cream and coffee. Since I am very sensitive to the taste, I find it very noticeable and I wind up spooning a mix of coconut oil and coffee off the surface 'til it's gone, then I drink the rest of the coffee normally.
I haven't suffered from brain fog since my first 2 weeks of being off wheatfor 2 weeks, but if anything I am less alert after the coconut oil and I think I'm going to stop putting it into my coffee.
The old saying applies, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
