Ok so this is trickier than you'd think, which is why 'voting' needs to be controlled better

Edit: Rather than this. There's probably a lot a cross voting and duplicates going on here, but since we can't be sure, and this ain't no official deal anyway, I'm gonna post what I perceive as the tallies here, with my comments:

1st place (TIE) - Organic Valley - 14 votes

  • 1 from Travis plus 10 votes

  • 1 from Mari, 1 from Shari, 1 from Carnivorous Carly

  • 1st place (TIE) - Kerrygold - 14 votes (although it should be disqualified)

  • 1 from Pieter D plus 8 votes

  • 1 from comparison (only one because I upvoted that based on the comparison story, not because I vote for Kerrygold)

  • 1 from Mari, 1 from Logan, 1 from Sherpamelissa, 1 from Shari

  • Side Note: TWO major infactions:

-- They don't claim full pastured and multiple people doubt they are, including Dr K.'s comment about contacting the company to no avail.

-- On another thread, Dr K. claims that he's actually tested KG for K2 and found levels of ZERO. Not sure about the true value of "Maybe not actually pastured butter that maybe doesn't actually contain K2".

  • 1st place (TIE) - Trickling Springs - 14 votes

  • 1 from WordVixen plus 5 votes

  • 1 from Joe Miller (owner) plus 2 votes

  • 1 from Mac, 1 from Sandy, 1 from Lynn, 1 from Nathan, 1 from Andrea

  • (I did not count any of the single votes on the individuals herebecause Joe Miller or somebody else probably upvoted all of them. it's just too unknown)

    4th place - SMJOR - 4 votes ??? - (should be 5?)

  • 1 from Kamal plus 2 votes-- although it should be one more, as someone suggested that I voted it up, but Jane and Alexandra both said they love make it , so there's a missing vote somewhereclick-able link.

  • 1 from Logan

  • 5th place - Amish Butter - 3 votes

  • 1 from Katie plus 1 from upvote (assumed Mari)

  • 1 from Helen

  • 6th place - Truly Organic - 2 votes

  • 1 from bftony plus 1 vote

Butter is dairy, no doubt, but it seems to be one of staples of diet that almost all Paleo folks agree on. The only prominent figure in our blogosphere world who openly knocks it is Dr. Davis, but the folks I trust more disagree and have provided solid rebuttals to his claims.

EditI will wait for a bit to calculate the totals.

    THE RESULTS! - A 3-way TIE for 1st place!

    show/hide this revision's text 2 clarification

There's lot of comments about pasture butter, but I am curious as to what brand is most popular across PaleoHacks.

Butter is dairy, no doubt, but it seems to be one of staples of diet that almost all Paleo folks agree on. The only prominent figure in our blogosphere world who openly knocks it is Dr. Davis, but the folks I trust more disagree and have provided solid rebuttals to his claims.

Somehow, Kerrygold seems to have a very strong foothold. I'm not sure if it's cause it's just widely available or what but so many people trust that brand. I know on their site it says their cows are grass fed, but nowhere on their packaging does it claim "grass-fed", "pastured", or even "organic", which I think is rather strange.

Weigh in with the brand you use and let's see which one gets the most tally marks!

Edit: It seems that the answers with the color images of the butter brand are the most popular! Anyone care to explain how to embed an image like that? I looked at the 'basic html' and I tried below with Pastureland but failed miserably.

Also, I will wait for a bit (maybe a week or so or until the thread dies out) and tally up all the totals to really see what brand is most popular, so keep em comin folks!
