We have to remember that we get an insulin response from protein as well...just not as much as from carbs. And if you are eating/drinking any dairy...such as cream...just because there is only fat...the casein protein triggers a huge insulin response....and thus no progress in weight loss.

I would say cut the protein down to 10% of calories and replace those calories with fat and keep the veggies/salads with oil and vinegar and veggies slathered in butter under 5%. Many of us eat 75-80% fat 10-15% protein and 5% or less veggies.

1988 calories is not a lot of calories for a 25-40 year old. It doesn't sound as if you are over feeding yourself.

You may not truly be in ketosis. If you buy ketostix, you can find out. In my early stages of paleo, I went zero carb for a couple of months and lost 25 pounds, and my wife could tell when I was in ketosis because it brings about really, really bad breath. You are truly not in ketosis unless you get the bad breath....known as ketobreath.
