Any definition that doesn't include legitimate neurosis that effects affects the quality of life is an absurd abuse of language. The correct aim of applied and clinical psychology is to improve the quality of life, not to appeal to abstract normative values like "normal behavior" that have been divorced from all semblance of usefulness and benefit to the individual.
