Well obviously a lot of people view vacation as a time to relax and take a break from most of their daily routine and habits, including indulging in foods they wouldn't normally eat (traditional holiday foods and desserts especially) or taking a break from scheduled workouts. Plus if it's a holiday you're often spending a lot of time with family and want to enjoy that instead of worrying over whether your food is paleo or not. Or you have to eat out a lot and can't always make perfect choices. Or you're eating at someone else's house and don't want to be rude. Or you're in a new country and want to try the food and not worry over carbs or whether you might eat some vegetable oil. There are lots of reasons, I don't think it's so hard to understand.
If you look at Paleo as And a chore you're doing for your health (nothing wrong with that I guess, whatever works for you), I'm sure you'd jump at lot of people have the opportunity to justify taking a little break from it for a while, all-or-nothing mentality where they eat one or two cheat meals and vacation provides figure that for sure. If you don't experience immediate physical discomfort from "cheating" (I don'tafter that, except if I there's no point in trying to eat dairy) then it's even easierwell the rest of the time. There are lots of reasons.
