I've been mostly paleo about a year- I used to be about 20 lbs overweight, lost 15 on weight watchers and about 10 more on paleo (I fluctuate within a few lbs). I've taken up weightlifting (mostly Oly and kettlebells) and occasional Crossfit-style metcons; I think I've put on 2 or 3 lbs of muscle.
I struggled with my weight for years and made many half-assed attempts to lose; nothing worked for me until Weight Watchers, but I got burned out after a couple months. I am extremely grateful to have found this lifestyle because I know this is how I'm going to be eating forever (I also figured out about a year and a half ago I have non-celiac gluten intolerance, and it had been making me miserable for several years). Some family and friends thought it was a little nutty at first, but now a lot of them are trying it too! Good luck! :)
