8 months now and 30lbs down. I'm done! Hoping to maintain myself this way, loving the way I can eat and feeling much better in general. For the first time am seeing signs of lack of intestional inflammation, this is about 8 yrs in the making!
I went cold turkey in January, lost about 15lbs in the first month. After that it was slow going, but well worth the wait. Took a few months after that to get the right % that worked, and after about 3 months I began trying to go more paleo than primal. I'm still working on that. I eat around 50-60g carbs per day, I can't seem to do VLC, I crave veggies. When I was loosing I kept it at 50 or slightly lower but always around that mark.
For the first time this weekend I allowed myself a cheat, due to a kind old lady working so hard to make a dessert for me. Needless to say I'm just now coming out of the bathroom this morning! Not sure what was in it (we asked for the recipe, as it was delicious, but now more to know what killed me) I suspect flour and sugar and lime. Lesson learned!!
This does melt the fat right off your body if you find what works for you!
