I've been thinking back to all my visits during adulthood to the doctor or hospital and it dawned on me that most all of them can be traced back to poor dietary choices. Sure I had a minor surgery for an accident or two and some stitches but... (more)
These questions seem to pop up with a disturbingly high frequency on this website. It almost seems as though paleohacks is operating in conjunction to a binge eaters anonymous type deal. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't have any sort of... (more)
So first of all I want to say that I realize that no one on the internet can solve my problems and I should really see a professional, but right now i'm on very thin ice and I just really need advice. Basically I guess you could say iv'e fallen... (more)
I can't recall the last time I saw a doctor for a general health check up, it might have been over a decade ago when I changed employers and insurance companies. Probably the last time I had my blood lipids tested. No clue what the numbers were... (more)

I'd at least try the doctor to help figure out what is wrong. Whether you choose to heed his advice or do your own "natural" remedy is up to you once you have a diagnosis.
Though I've fully embraced my inner 'doctor google', and although I very much appreciate the collective experience and practical suggestions offered here, I'm ready to see a doctor for the following issues. However, I don't know what type of... (more)
I suspect schizophrenia and anorexia nervosa have some kind of link. Years ago I worked with a man who had schizophrenia. His sister had anorexia nervosa and was probably going to die. It was strange how similar their symptoms actually were.
How should we answer questions that may be beyond the level we should be dealing with? How do we know what that level is? (brought on by a particular question, but really applies to a lot of questions I've read here)
Just throw out the first thing that comes to mind, it's pretty silly to look for answers to serious medical questions at "Paleo Hacks," what's next "Hack My Brain Tumor"? People link to photos of their poop for God's sake.

Q1: Are you eating enough food? At 15 you're still growing. You need a lot more calories than someone who's 38 and sedentary and trying to lose weight. Paleo food can be very satiating...perhaps too satiating. Try putting everything you eat... (more)
