Hi, everyone! I just wanted to ask, do you think people over 60 can do the paleo diet? Will their body adapt?

What do you recommend for seniors in their 70's and beyond? We are not doing the strenuous exercises but want to eat a paleo diet.

My 61 year old father just informed me he's been in the hospital for 9 days because his doc overdosed him on pain meds for a double hip replacement he had 1.5 years ago. He's 5'4" and under 100 lbs at this point. He has a history of alcoholism... (more)

Whole milk helped me put weight on my daughter. I also slather everything I can in butter. Low blood sugar will be fine so long as he eats enough protein at meals. I would also try to get him to eat lots of coconut. Good luck!

My father has witnessed my progress over the past few years on the Paleo diet, and is looking for something to complement traditional western medicine. He has never tried to alter his diet from what he has been taught all these years. He is... (more)

Perfect Health Diet would be a good fit for him. It would have fewer restrictions (he could eat rice, dairy, etc). Here is a good page from them detailing a weight loss diet for a sedentary 76 year... (more)

I am one of those seniors. Eleven years ago I was being tested for RA. My fingers were looking knobby and crooked. Had joint pain in many joints. My biggest change came from dropping gluten. My fingers now look nice and straight and I wake up with... (more)

I thought it would be nice to have a thread for us over-55 ladies to discuss this way of eating and ways to improve its usefulness to our health. Any other ladies over 55 here?

I'm 52.51 . Grey Hair has been around a fair number of years, I'm perimenopausal, but every time I go beyond 50 days, I figure I could be starting the 1 year countdown! (I was so disappointed when I got to 90, but didn't get to 91 days.) I'm... (more)
