You need to ensure you have enough cholesterol to make the sex hormones, so this means eating lots of good quality saturated fat. So coconut oil, grassfed butter, red palm oil, cocoa butter (if you can afford it), EVOO, egg yolks, etc. ... (more)

Yes, it can, especially if you get all the precursors to make cholesterol, which is then converted to hormones. Ditto minerals such as zinc, magnesium, etc.
