I've been down this road. For me, heavy exercise while fighting a viral infection ended me up in the hospital. I'd recommend against it and get in to see your doctor. You might need antivirals. (Although, I had some success with just lots... (more)

How's your Vitamin D status? Sunning/supplementing to a blood level of 60-80 ng/ ml may be useful.

In general the better health you are in the less likely you are to have a shingles outbreak or a particularly bad when when you do. But, as you already note its almost impossible to tell which stressors may initiate it. It use to be that those... (more)

This sounds just like my Dad. Shingles started Aug.1 and now he is left with tremendous pain. Nothing is working. How is your dad now?

Paleo doesn't mean not taking advantage of modern medicine; especially things that prevent or treat infectious disease. It's important to be knowledgeable about any decision you make with regards to your health, but it seems like a no-brainer to me. (more)
