Every article I read about SIBO claims that can take "YEARS" to cure SIBO just within dietary means of action. I don't understand this claim. Suppose you do a ketogenic diet(Which I practice until I feel my body needs carbs again) Wouldn't that... (more)

You won't get rid of SIBO without antibiotics. Sorry to say. Probiotics might make the situation worse. And yes, Rifaximin is the one you should be taking. To mitigate the damage with Rifagut/Rifaximin, try taking it after a meal.

I have done brief research into SIBO and there are so many conflicting diets for what to eat. I need to try something I can do in the interim of seeing a doctor to see if I have SIBO. I can't do bone broth just yet and I still have some veggies,... (more)

I have SIBO. When my doctor and I discussed my diet, he told me that I eat way too much meat. He said that undigested meat will be consumed by my gut bacteria and by eating over 3 oz of meat per meal (I usually have 6-8 oz) I feed the bad bacteria... (more)

I agree with the low starch approach. In my recipes, I limit the most difficult-to-digest carbs including fructose, lactose, resistant starch, fiber and sugar alcohols. Gut bacteria thrive on these carbs for most of their energy via fermentation.... (more)

I read that as long as the sugars don't need to be digested and thus absorbed higher up in the small intestines that they would not feed the bacteria. But that would be honey because it's a simple sugar, right? and I think honey is making my... (more)
