If it was inflamed constantly I would think food. If it hurts when you move, I would think injury or impingement. Esp with squats. Have a trainer work with you on really tweaking your form and see if that helps. When the outside of my knee... (more)

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish with them. For strengthening the kinetic chain, low-bar squats are better. For dynamic conditioning, Squat Cleans are better. It's all about what you're trying to accomplish.

I use my VFF's or just go barefoot. It depends what else I'm doing or how cold it is, as my gym is in the garage. It's kind of distracting in bare feet when it's 20 degrees out. Anything flat and accurately distanced and balanced from the ground. (more)
