If you need to grab something to eat from starbucks, go for their protein plate: Peanut butter, eggs, cheese, apple, grapes -- or their chicken plate: chicken, lettuce, apple.

I have a bit of a hormone issue in that too much non-organic/raw dairy gives me hormonal facial acne. So let's say that I want to go to Starbucks for a very rare treat (free drink on my bday!). Which would be a better choice in terms of hormones:... (more)

My personal take on it is that if you don't do well with conventional dairy, and you're going for the occasional treat, I'd probably get the soy. I believe--please correct me if something's changed--that Starbucks uses organic soy milk. It's not... (more)

So, as I was pulling up to get my latte this morning, the baristas were handing out samples of their new refreshers. I thought it tasted pretty good. I didn't feel like I was pouring straight cane syrup down my throat. I've been looking at the... (more)

Why wouldn't you just make them at home minus the sweeteners? All you'd need is a muddler and a tall glass. Heck, you could make a whole pitcher of them for what one of these would cost, lol. Seltzer water Fruit Crushed mint It's basically a... (more)

I loved that I used to be able to walk in to a Starbucks, order my coffee, and request that they put heavy cream into it for me. A few months ago, I noticed they were using a different heavy cream container. It used to be light blue, the new... (more)

I have a small bottle that I fill with coconut milk when I'm going to an espresso place. Tastes just as good in my coffee as cream does (and I'm off dairy anyway).

I thought this was funny...I just ordered a small coffee with heavy whipping cream at my public library and the older woman who made my drink said "I like to call this naughty cream, because it's full of fat and so yummy." She then said my request... (more)

raydawg 0 · April 09, 2014 at 10:02 AM

Why would you waste money on K-cups? Buy a real coffee maker, a real coffee grinder, and real coffee. All K-cups do is enrich the manufacturer and pollute the environment with more plastic. All you get out of it is a pain in the wallet,... (more)

I was at Starbucks where everything is overpriced, but I've seen this other places as well. At the checkout, there's a basket of bananas for $1.00 each. I can buy an entire bunch of bananas for $1.20 just down the street. So what's the deal? Are... (more)

I'm not a regular Starbucks patron and even got into a fight with my mom about it once (we were in a cute little beach town with tons of locally owned options yet she insisted on going to Starbucks...), but there have been occasions when I've been... (more)

Get a kick-ass pile of veggies or a salad from one of the Vegan places, and top with a bunless burger from the burger joint. :-) If the burger joint has a salad bar, or a decent selection of "toppings", you can probably make a decent meal out of... (more)
