many soft fruits like pears, apples, and peaches are high in fructose which can be bloating. maybe stick to citrus or berries. and if you must do cheese on your eggs, choose a lactose-free one like swiss.

Are you familiar with the FODMAP diet? Google knows far more about it than I ever could, but the gist of it is removing certain vegetables that have a tendency to cause bloating, gas, and the like. FODMAP stands for types of foods (mainly sugars)... (more)

I wish that when I first started eating paleo/primal/low-carb I had used probiotics, fermented foods, and plenty of magnesium. I do now, but I ended up with gallstones. I was a prime candidate: obese, middle-aged, on the pill, and I lost a lot of... (more)

I recently started adding fish oil supplementation to my paleo diet but I find that every time I take it my stomach starts to burn. Not necessarily an upset stomach just more like general pain. Is this normal when you first begin taking fish oil?... (more)

Costco sells fish oil in enteric coated capsules. This means they break down until they get to your small intestine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enteric_coating). They have a kind of gross vanilla flavor to them, though.

Does anyone know how long it takes for any extra calories to move from your stomach to adipose tissue? That is, how long after a meal can you be reasonably sure that it won't have any more of an affect on your visible body composition? (more)

If you're used to eating at a certain time and you don't, you'll get this issue - your stomach is gearing up to digest food it doesn't get. Apart from this the real solution is more vegetables, however you can test this pretty easily. Go get... (more)

I would suspect stress/anxiety considering when the problem started. It could possibly also be the industrial seed oils the foods at school are cooked in or the fact that you are eating more raw veggies. But it's probably anxiety/stress. (more)

I'm still pretty new to paleo, but I think I've figured out where my stomach pains come from. I have a long history of GERD, with enough heartburn to knock out an elephant. I've taken PPI's for the last few years, though I've attempted to wean off... (more)

"moderately paleo" doesn't tell us too much, we don't know what you're eating. It's likely what you can remove from your diet to help with the bloating, not what you can add. But we need to know what you're eating first.
