I'm a 19 year old college student struggling with how strict paleo to be, and how much to eat in general.  It's pretty hard to be perfect paleo on a meal plan in a college cafeteria - for example, they put milk in all their eggs! :( The... (more)

While I think this is counter-productive, for some reason I want to play along. So here's my list (in no particular order). Note: This assumes you do not need some AIP or anything like that. Cow: all cuts of beef, including liver and kidney.... (more)

I have on-again/off-again digestion issues, and I was considering doing strict paleo PLUS avoiding nightshades, eggs, alcohol, dairy, and all nuts and seeds for the first 30 days. This sounds very restrictive, but I'm willing to do it if it'll... (more)

I'm pretty sure that the Practical Paleo book has an eating plan that would help you. She has an autoimmune section that avoids nightshades. Her recipes are really good. I've been happy with everything I've tried and she has reccomendations for... (more)

I ask this question because my friend who is paleo thinks I'm too restrictive since I choose not to eat grains, dairy, veggie oils, legumes, soy, and corn. He eats peanut butter, butter/cream, white rice, and adheres from grains only like 80% of... (more)

I'm pretty strictly paleo too. Never corn, legumes, sweets, or grains, and only minimal amounts of dairy. A little cream in my eggies, bit a' buttah, some super dark chocolate (85-90%), but that's it. Oy. A glass or two of wine on holidays. If... (more)

Ok so first of all, I have searched this board as well as others and haven't found too much information that fits my health issues. I am a 21 year old, 6' male, about 172lbs and looking to gain muscle (and lose bf). I really don't know my bf%... (more)

The first thing that sticks out is the lean meat. No reason to go lean if its grass-fed. Minor reason to go lean if it's not (fatty acid ratios that are minimal to begin with). Cuts closer to the bone are often cheaper. Going with bone-in roasts... (more)

So I'm on my 2nd week of the paleo diet and have been wondering if I have sabitoged myself with putting a tablespoon of creamed honey in my coffee the past3 days? I also have been having cravings for smoothies and have had one with frozen fruit... (more)

I found during the first few weeks of eating paleo you shouldn't restrict your fruit intake too much. Its hard enough for your body to get used to cutting out all sweets and all those yummy carbs. If fruit helps you avoid cheating on other foods... (more)

What, in your opinion, is the basic standard paleo way of eating? It used to mean: no grains, no dairy, no sugar, no soy, no white potatoes, no GMOs, no beans, responsibly-raised and humanely as possible culled meat. The basis was vegetables and... (more)

My idea of paleo is high food quality (organic produce, grass fed/wild/free range meat and fish). A Food List (80+% of calories): meat, fish, eggs green, leafy vegetables roots/tubers fruit honey herbs/spices are okay, as are nightshades, if... (more)

I found the Primal Blueprint 8 months ago and have lost 60 pounds. I went from 240 to 180, size 18 to 12, at 5' 4". For the last couple of months, though, I've been regaining and relosing the same 6 pounds. At this point, I don't know what my... (more)

Have you ever done cronometer.com or fitday.com to see whether you are lacking in any mironutrients? Depending on your carbohydrate level, you may be down a quart in potassium which can cause your cells to be less responsive to thyroid and cause... (more)

I don't eat out often, but I just ignore the whole subject of oils when I do, what about you? It seems to me that people with serious health issues would be wise to be completely strict, and while I don't have cancer, I do suffer from migraines... (more)

Depends. I don't eat french fries or anything obviously and normally fried. I avoid things where oils are likely to be major components. But hey, I am eating out, I am not going to stress my head over what I don't know. If its not obvious and I... (more)

I did go on a paleo diet for around a week and started feeling a lot better. Unfortunately I had a lot of stress at the time and went back to my old eating habits. I think being strict on this is hard because if I go out with friends to a... (more)

I had to laugh at this post. Chocolate, Chipotle, and all out cheats = my triangle of doom as well. I can probably go two weeks. The house is clean and tight except for a box of flaked quinoa (which I have no problem with but I know the... (more)
