Hi,  I am on my second week of strict aip paleo to combat my stage 3 Hidradenitis Suppurativa. My first week consisted mainly of beef because I know what to look for in beef, i.e. 100% grass fed to avoid consuming the grains the cow... (more)

What does it matter if the animal eats grain? Those grains are completely broken down into the constituent sugar, fat and protein molecules that they are composed of in the digestive system of the animal that ate it and turned into meat (muscle... (more)

I have been doing strict Paleo for the last 4 weeks. The only exceptions -- daily -- 1 scoop whey protein powder after and/or between CrossFit WODs, morning coffee, and sugar free chewing gum -- None of this is new to my diet, either. Before... (more)

Eat starches. They really aren't the devil, and they will absolutely help you poop.

I started eating paleo in January (about 4months ago) and felt amazing. The 15% would be the occasional side of white rice or a little goat cheese). I decided to try a 30-day strict paleo challenge to ween my way off sugar a bit and I'm finding my... (more)

If you felt better on 85/15 paleo or whatever, do that. Strict paleo isn't better because it's strict paleo.

I ask this question because my friend who is paleo thinks I'm too restrictive since I choose not to eat grains, dairy, veggie oils, legumes, soy, and corn. He eats peanut butter, butter/cream, white rice, and adheres from grains only like 80% of... (more)

I'm pretty strictly paleo too. Never corn, legumes, sweets, or grains, and only minimal amounts of dairy. A little cream in my eggies, bit a' buttah, some super dark chocolate (85-90%), but that's it. Oy. A glass or two of wine on holidays. If... (more)

What is your opinion on what a hardcore paleo follower should eat? I'm particularly interested about the topics of canned and frozen foods, coffee, chocolate, honey and maple syrup, and dairy(especally butter).

The biggest thing for me is getting rid of canned food. It is full of synthetic estrogen that has some devastating effects on your body. Frozen veggies are good to have on hand for easy meals, we even buy gigantic bags of broccoli at costco, the... (more)

I've been strictly Paleo for a number of weeks now, and just today decided to 'cheat' a little by having half a tsp. of Manuka honey. Immediately, I felt sick to my core. At the time I ate it, I hadn't had food for a good four hours or so, so I'm... (more)

You spiked your blood sugar (and therefore insulin) & are experiencing a blood sugar drop. No worries. It's normal if you've been low carb for awhile. Eat some protein and/or fat & you will feel better.

I think this is a great question. No, ACV was not found in the Paleolithic Age, but as with so many other foods like lacto-fermented veggies, raw butter, bee pollen and magnesium supplements, many people use them to support what they call a... (more)

You could try with nuts, high in fats, and dried fruits like dates, raisins and prunes (although the best nuts are also the most expensive ones...). They are the most nutrition dense and adhere to paleo. Beware that they could bring up your hunger... (more)

For me and most meat only is a temporary thing to rebalance the body. It worked particularly well at eliminating gas producing bacteria and clearing up my gums. Post-meat only, I can eat vegetables that previously gave me gas and sugar cravings... (more)

I have been primal/paleo for over a year now, and I've lost a significant amount of weight on it. I've been lacking in energy lately, but on the past few days where it's been warm and the sun is shining, I've felt much better. Anyway, my question... (more)
