Hi, I was wondering if anyone has experienced gastrointestinal distress from eating dried fruit treated with sulfur dioxide. I eat some dried fruit everyday without problem but I've recently experienced an episode of really bad painful gas that... (more)
So a while back I bought some ground organic beef from Costco "Organic Ranchers" and had it in the freezer until last night. After letting it thaw for a day in the fridge, I opened it up and it smelled of sulfur. I soaked it in water for a few... (more)
Ever heard of Sulfur Oxidation problems? My well-known Osteopath has not and doesn't appear inclined to do any research on her own. (Her treatments have not helped me so far, 4 months in).So now, Dr. Google has diagnosed me and I am thinking of... (more)
How bad is this? I love creamed coconut and dried coconut flakes, but sometimes the only ones I can find have sulphur dioxide as an additive (no other additives though). I'm guessing this is not ideal, but does anyone know about... (more)
I have read several places online that if you do not tolerate sulfur foods that you need to be careful with folic acid supplementation. Can someone summarize what that issue is? I am heterozygous for C677T, which I understand... (more)
Hi, I just got my 23andme results back and need some help understanding what the heck I can do... 1. I have a CBS mutation, which is confusing. On one hand, I have always had joint pain & stiffness, so I'm not surprised that I have a sulfur... (more)

If you have a problem with sulfur you may be able to take some molybdenum to help with this. There is a genetic polymorphism in the methylation cycle called CBS which may be at fault. Not pleasant! I don't know my CBS status (yet) but I react to... (more)
Some dried fruit is Sulfited. Is this safe? Or should I stay away from it? I know some sulfur is naturally occurring, like in asparagus, and we obviously just pass the sulfur, hence the sulfur smelling urine. Is sulfited kiwi ok?
