As per many of the other recommendations, doing some HIIT and sprinting once or twice per week will help shed the fat without you loosing your butt. As to the arms, just keep the reps high and your muscles will tone but not grow much if any. ... (more)

I am a swimmer. I swim about 8 times a week and our workouts are 2.5-1.5 hours. What foods should I eat before practice? What about the first 30 minutes after I workout?

I've swum naked in the Gulf before, but because it was a public beach, I stayed in the deeper water and kept my bikini tied to my ankle so it wouldn't float away. FELT AWESOME.

I would steer towards lower intensity stuff that doesn't tap into the glycogen type burst activities... I personally (if working out fasted) will do non-aerobic stuff or low intensity things like walking... even some kettlebell lifts are suitable... (more)

What do no-shampoo folks do after swimming in a chlorine-laden lap pool? Just rinsing with water doesn't seem to do the trick in my hair - but battling back the chlorine with the chemicals in my shampoo seems like a poor option as well. I love... (more)

i swim with a silicone hat, but i hear that neoprene ones are much better at keeping the water out. there is one I plan to get. the My swim cap Diva (it is supposed to be perfect for those with long hair)!

Yes, I am formerly a competitive long distance swimmer. I train less these days though. The muscle tone you develop just swimming is different to that you might develop in a gym. Professional (short course) swimmers do half their training out... (more)
