Dessicated thyroid is not really over the counter drug, it needs to be prescribed and here in the UK they don't do that, you have to go private. I'm in the process of treating my hypothyroidism and I took the plunge and went private to Dr Georges... (more)

I had my thyroid removed about 15 years ago (suspected cancer, but it turned out to be a benign cyst) and have since been on sythroid for replacement therapy. If you are losing too much weight, it could simply be that you are on too high of a... (more)

As much as I wanted it to work, sadly, it didn't. I had been on Synthroid for 5-6 years, based on high TSH (50's). I had very few symptoms and they never tested anything but TSH and T4. The Synthroid didn't help me, I thought, as I got fatter,... (more)

This is difficult for me, probably because of information I've read and my personal situation. I am hypo-thyroid, I take 88mcg of Synthroid first thing in the morning, then at lunch time I take some supplements, (I've heard that taking any sort... (more)

When I look through the trees and see the forest, I'm guessing your current diet is not 100% Paleo. My observation is you seem to be focusing a great deal on the dosage level of drugs while isolating merely one or two specific nutrients - in this... (more)

At 70 pounds overweight, I started eating Paleo in the latter part of February, 2011. I have lost roughly 15 pounds as of April 12 without any major exercise due to a back sprain. In a short period of time, my blood pressure went down and my... (more)
