We've been invited to another's house for this Thxgiving & the host is aware of my being GF, but that I can eat pretty much anything else. I don't want to be "that person" (anymore) where special things need to be cooked/prep'd/made... so I... (more)
I'm not GF, so I'd eat traditional sides if they were home-cooked, but my family member is going the instant potatoes, canned yams, and Stove Top route. So I'm bringing carrots & broccoli to steam right before dinner.
I'm not quite sure what I'm doing for the holiday, if I'm with my usual group of friends or what, but if I am with friends then it's my usual duties of salad, the potato, the dessert, but I always break those rules and end of making a few extra... (more)

Time heals all wounds. If you have the day off today just relax. I tend to drink tons of water if I have a big cheat meal. I don't know why my body is so thirsty afterwards, but I feel better when drinking lots of water.
To take a little of the emotional pressure off my mind going into my first ancestral Thanksgiving, I bought a "minimally processed" turkey. I can't afford a free-range bird, but I found one that had never been frozen and had not been injected with... (more)

I went to the grocery store this morning and asked whether they had any fresh turkey left. They did, but it was in the back, already taken off the racks. They sold me the turkey at 65% off! For those of you on a pretty hard budget (like me), go... (more)
I follow the 80/20 principle, yesterday was entirely in the 20% column. And to save money for the next couple days, I'll be eating non-paleo Thanksgiving leftovers. :)
