I don't think it's a fat adaption thing if you've been eating paleo for a couple years. It may relate to bile production. Have you had any blood work done? You may have elevated liver enzymes or bilirubin.

For me, I figured out if I had anything with refined sugar in the evening (such as dessert after dinner), I had a hard time waking up in the morning (like hangover style). A little fruit doesn't seem to affect me the same though.
