Oh, forgot to answer about antihistamine - recently was sick and had to take nyquil to be able to breathe to sleep (otherwise I don't take any medication) and that stuff made me sleep like a baby. Is there something that is kinder to my body than nyquil that you might suggest I try? Thanks!

Now Foods brand, 3mg sized pills (so 3mg or 6mg depending on time of month). The bottle doesn't specify if it's timed release. I was depressed. I've been feeling better now. Part of it may be this dark, cold Ohio winter though.

I feel for you! I have the same issue where I live (even before going Paleo, it's just hard to find people around here who want to be healthy and active - it's either the bar type or the real serious athletes who refuse to take a bike ride for fun instead of for training).

I tend to agree. 5 and 10k's can be completed in less than an hour and don't really require a lot of training. I follow a Crossfit Endurance-type template for triathlon conditioning and I find it to be physically friendly and great for continued improvement (I only continue to get faster). I don't know your previous story or if you have even told us - if you don't already lift weights, I would highly recommend adding weightlifting 2 or 3 times a week (preferably on non-endurance days). The endurance training is a little counter-productive, but you don't have to lift massive amounts.
