This is where I started:
As a writer, graphic artist, and soda-drinker extraordinare, I live a very sedentary lifestyle. And you know what? My gut shows it. So I'm here, working not really to fix a bad self image that I don't have, but health problems I never realized were present or so directly related to my weight as they actually are. IBS? Check. PCOS? Check. Pre-diabetic? Check. Smart ass? Oh yeah, man.... too bad losing weight will never fix that.
Where I am now:
All of the issues above are in check. I found through paleo that I have a stupidly strong intolerance to gluten and legumes. I do best low-ish carb (50-80 grams a day) with dairy confined to heavy cream, cheese, and butter.
We shall not speak of the once-weekly latte from my favorite cafe.
