Since the first Iditarod sled dog race in 1973 it became painfully clear to mushers that optimum health and endurance performance in dogs requires species-typical/evolutionary diets. Substituting grain protein and carbs does not work for them. We can learn from their requirements which are not so much different from those of humans. For better and worse, the trajectory of LC Paleo diets seems to follow that of dog food beginning 40 years ago including overlooking the importance of collateral but critical nutrients and physiology like fiber, GALT, GH, neurotransmitters... Paleo diet is a hidden target.
