Hello I am a 44year old auto mechanic. I have degenerative disc disease and several sports injuries. the last 3 years have been learning how to fix myself. In Dec 2010 I went off work for 4 months with pinched nerves in my neck and thoracic spine and was in miserable pain. After 3MRI's, a bone scan, 2 surgeons, 3 physical therapists, two chiropractors and thousands of dollars everybody says, sorry we dont know what to do for you. What? Some medical system we have huh. Well i had already lost 80 lbs from my heaviest of 286 at 5'9" but still not "healthy". during one of my last chiropractor visits I found Crossfit from an article about Brian Mckenzie. I started reading then training and started feeling lets say 50% better. In June of 2011 I took class and became crossfit level-1 trainer. I am also a triathlete starting in 2011with a long history of lifting weights and 33 years of playing soccer. In Oct 2013 I suffered my second complete rotator cuf tear in my left shoulder. Surgury went well on 1-10-2014 but healing this one is long road they say. So I found the Paleocon summit from a friend and also from Ben Greenfield. so I watched, I listened, an now my brain hurts from so much information and I think diet is to blame for lots of my health problems( swelling, weight, arthritis, sunis and respritory infections, asthma). I had heard of paleo but have not tried it until now. very excited.
