I'm in my 50's. Discover about 10 years ago that I am celiac, which means I spent 4 DECADES poisoning myself! "They" wanted me to be on all kinds of medication. As a biologist, I insisted on know "why" this was happening. It took me about 2 years to finally read a book on autoimmunity to figure it out, order the labs and confirm what I had found. You must always be your own best advocate! I got quite a bit healthier, though not as far as I had hoped, with my new awareness. The almost 5 years ago got into a bad car accident. Still have lots of pain and dysfunction from this, so gained weight as it a result of pain and lack of ability or motivation to "move". Then discovered Paleo! That did help, I've lost about 1/2 the weight. And one thing that kept me somewhat functional is that I teach yoga, specializing in "therapeutic" yoga, which helped a LOT. Still wasn't making the progress that I'd like. A few months ago, I discovered the next step, nutritional ketogenesis! Wow!!! That really IS making a difference. I doubt that I will ever be 100% pain free as I've tried all kinds of things. But won't quit working at it, and finding the right diet/lifestyle for me has been a huge help. Keto fits in very well with Paleo, so if you feel you need just one more tweak, check into it. It's just one more step along the way!
