I was a former Combat Medic with the Army National Guard and spent 2 years in Iraq. Afterward, I hiked the entire Appalachian Trail with my wife. I went to art school in Toronto, Canada and now I am an artist.I have been a paleo enthusiast since fall of '09 after one of my teachers told me about it. Before then I was attempting to eat healthy according to Conventional Wisdom but I felt like I was starving all the time. One day I ate some liver and I felt incredible. I checked out WAPF after that since they came up on a google search about liver and read Price's book. That was my first taste that conventional wisdom was wrong. I then read Primal Blueprint and really liked how Mark laid out the principles in a fun, easy to follow manner. I really became committed to Paleo after reading Good Calories Bad Calories. I now tend to eat a primarily animal based diet.
