I don't know about over-supplementation, but I've read an awful lot linking cysts with low iodine levels. Dr. Jorge Flechas is particularly vocal about it, and claims that cysts - sebaceous cysts, ovarian cysts, Fibrocystic breasts, keloids, etc.... (more)

I've been looking for an answer to this for a while. Does anyone know what the accepted dosage recommendation for K2 (menatetrenone) is? Most of what I find is between 90 and 200mcg, and there's a Carlson Labs product containing 5mg ($44.75 @... (more)

Thorne Research's K2 is the only cost-effective MK4 supplement I know of. $60 for what appears to be 1200 1mg drops. 1 mg/day is far more than almost everyone gets from their diet (typical intakes are on the level of a few dozen MICROgrams per... (more)

Thorne puts out a K2 that is made in a lab. It is drops, and the drops last a long time. The caveat is that I actually went back to Carlson's 5mg pills, which are made from animal sources, because I didn't feel the Thorne product made me feel as... (more)

Hello, Does anyone know if 1mcg of vitamin K2 MK-7 equals 1mcg of MenaQ7? Also, how refined is MenaQ7? I was wondering about traces of soy in it. Thank you

Vit K2 is not banned here in Canada, there is just a maximum strength that is allowed to be sold by Law, it's 60mcg or 100mcg. I buy Vit K2 @ 100mcg from my health food store regularly.

Only MK-4 is implicated in bone health and it is the x-factor in spring butter. Vitamin K1 is converted to MK-4 in the body. Pre-formed is probably more optimal but who knows. I take 5mg of MK-4 almost everyday, I want to make sure I load up... (more)

I accidentally bought a k2 supplement in the MK-7 form instead of MK-4. Would you bother taking this? Thanks a lot!

There's decent data for K1, and multiple forms of K2, including mk-7 and mk-4. The type of data supporting each is currently different, a testament to the infancy of the state of knowledge on this topic. There's a randomized placebo controlled... (more)
