In researching some different probiotics, I came across Saccharomyces boulardii and this article in particular. Would it be beneficial to increase the yeast in my water kefir grain culture? (more)

Don't know about kefir, but I have been prescribed boulardii for my leaky gut syndrome by my functional medicine practitioner. He said he noticed a very good recovery of the gut lining in his patients using this particular probiotic.

iv never gotten dizzy at all do you drink alcohol much? If not, it could be the slight buzz of the alcohol depending how long you are 2nd fermenting for.

No, kefir grains don't like to be changed the kind of milk they use too often. They like it even less going from water to milk and back again. They won't thrive, they might even start dying out. What you need to do is buy your kefir grains... (more)

Since water kefir grains multiply when healthy, wait until you have spare grains and feed your main grains as usual but feed the expendable grains dextrose. To be sure, you'd need to brew with both sets of grains/fuel for at least 2 weeks. If the... (more)

I'm no expert, but I think the grains have to interact directly with the sugar in the fermentation medium (water in the jar on your pantry shelf) and not in your gut. I think your body digests the sugar before the water kefir grains can act on it.... (more)
