I'm 36, 5'1 and 100 lbs and wow, I'd be really hungry on that diet. And you'll need more protein if you want to put on muscle.

So I've got a bit of an issue here.... I've been following a paleo diet for the past 4 months and prior to that I would consider myself a fairly "clean" eater to begin with. I recently decided to add dairy (occasionally adding milk and geek... (more)

I have recently had this exact same problem and my story is very similar to yours regarding eating patterns and CrossFit. I'm 5'7 + 145lbs. Started Paleo and CrossFit in Feb when I was 158lbs. I've become very lean & I'm the strongest/fittest... (more)

Still, I don't think you eat nearly enough carbs to gain. 7oz sweet potato is 45g. Add berries and other stuff is another 10g. I'd try to double your carb intake, adding an extra SP or two per lifting day, to get to 100-150g carbs a day, minimum.... (more)

Try eating a morning meal of 3 eggs cooked in butter or coconut oil, some meat or fish and some green leafy things or half an avocado if you want. Skip the dairy, fruit and nuts. See how long that breakfast holds you. This is the breakfast that... (more)

This might be pure speculation, but I'm curious as to what you all think. I'm a woman, 21 years old, and I've always been slim, my BMI has never been higher than 19. But I always had a larger proportion of fat around my midsection, especially my... (more)

15lbs is an awful lot to lose on someone with a bmi of 19. There is no reason to restrict your starches, either. Paleo is not about low carb. You likely lost a good amount of muscle mass in that 15lbs or you had low muscle mass to begin.... (more)

I'm hoping someone can give me some input... A little background on me: I'm semi-recovering anorexic/bulimic (that hurts to say out loud). Before starting Paleo I had lost about 25-30lbs, admittedly not in the healthiest way, and then stumbled... (more)

If you are coming off of a year of a controlled starvation diet the pendulum could swing the other way before evening out. No fear though, it'll most likely start moving the right way once you are re-nourished. If you were having to stay on a... (more)
