Monte I answered this on the thread too. Sounds like extreme dehydration caused an acute pregnenolone steal.......and affected BDNF and NGF........Pretty common on a paleo diet change over especially if the diet is loaded with a ton of starchy... (more)

Eggs have iron and your sauerkraut probably has some hydrogen sulfide (that's probably not a good thing, it's toxic). It's simple chemistry from there Fe + S => black iron sulfides.
