If you're eating a good paleo diet including dairy, you are most likely getting enough calcium. Your Mg supplementation looks fine. Taking it during meals is best as that is when stomach acid is highest. For best absorption, spread out the dosages... (more)

If you want palatable whole food sources:Get your zinc from red meat.Get your magnesium from tubers or whole grains or leafy veggies or fish.

I find that I get plenty of copper from organ meats, chocolate, and various other random sources. I try not to make beef muscle central to my diet. Of the muscle I eat, beef probably come second after fish, so it's not exactly rare. I'm more... (more)

as there are plenty of other zinc supps out there, personally i would not buy that one. it also includes povidone, something else that has no need to be there

I don't get why so many of us are deficient in Zinc? I think it's cause we need Vitamin D and such to help it function and it's a cascade of deficiencies? Cause people in undeveloped countries don't have acne, and I don't really think they have... (more)

I don't think your body would tell you you're zinc deficient if you're supplementing it... i would say it's either something with the metal fillings (usually is, especially if it's mercury based) or it could be your body is getting an overdose of... (more)

yes, supplement with copper. picolinate is always the superior zinc, use that.

People forget that right next to liver in nutrition are oysters, which contain lots of zinc. Simply eat these two foods once a week (not same day), and you will be OK.

I guess it debends on your meat, we have 4mg of zinc per 100grams of beef, not a lot. Our RDA is 9mg, i sure would like to eat double that.
