Hi, I've been Crossfitting for a year 1/2 now, and zone/paleo for about 7 months. I am a 15 year old boy and am wondering if 15 blocks a day is good enough. I used to be 175 lbs. a year ago, and now am 136 lbs. I don't want to keep myself from... (more)

I would advise you to get off the zone and stop being so calculated with your eating. Eat tons of meat, eggs, fish, and protein. Eat starchy carbs around workouts. Eat lots of veggies. You're a 17 year old male, 136 pounds is ridiculous. Eat more... (more)

So I want to start doing the Zone in addition to my already Paleo life, and I get the blocks and what not, but how does one incorporate cooking oils (butter, EVOO, Coconut oil etc) - if 1 tblsp of coconut oil goes into the pan, that whole... (more)

I did Zone paleo for a while too, and had trouble with this. I was more lenient on fats, since low fat is really difficult after getting used to paleo for some time. I still kept the oil to about 1 or 2 teaspoons, and still added avocado or... (more)

BTW, you can implement the Perfect Health Diet (paleo) as what amounts to Zone. Especially since, although most people skip this part, Zone is only 40-30-30 if you calorie restrict. You are supposed to add extra fat for any calories above the... (more)

Hi Michelle, The first thing you have to do is eliminate hunger. I'm guessing you're probably too low carb and need to add some starches, and the other factor that's likely to contribute to hunger is micronutrient deficiencies. It's good to... (more)

So I recently thought I would tinker with a paleo zone, to see if it helps lean out. Going to stick with the paleo foundation just add in the zone block theory. I read that ramping up the fat is a good idea, especially since I am pretty active.... (more)
